Hello,

Anybody install MacOS 12 yet? Does AT5 work ok with it?

Cheers.

Not so lucky. :(
After upgrading to OS X Monterey on my M1 Macbook, AT5 (version 5.0.2B) crashes at startup.
I've tried a clean un-install and install with the same result.
I've also tried a clean un-install and install of the previous version of AT5 (5.0.1) with the same result.
I suppose there's some incompatibility between Monterey and the new OS X, something I've already experienced in the past

No news from IK Multimedia or Apple, as far as I've been able to look for.

Will wait for someone posting a solution for the issue, or for an update from IK Multimedia or Apple, or for the new version of Amplitube whispered about on the I'net.

Meanwhile I am forced to use a much more awful amp modeling sw :(

Sorry to hear that - I wonder what is different in our setups? I’m using an Axe I/O - do you have something different?

I just plug my guitar into a Behringer U-phoria UMC22 connected via USB to my mac and set this device as input for AT5.
I checked the Mac report and it is a clear and clean segmentation fault. I sent it to Apple (by default) and IK Multimedia.
Hope for an answer :)

The last version of AT5 available for me is 5.2. I've tried this one and the previous one without success.
The version numbers in my previous post refer to the installation pkg for Mac.

BTW, thank you for spending your time on my issue :)

Hello.
I'm not sure what you are installing bc you stated you were installing 5.0.2B. That's not version 5.2 (it should be AmpliTube_5_2_0B.dmg file).

Cheers.

You are right guys. I apologize and try to clarify what I have done.

These are the steps I have performed.

I had AT5 version 5.1 (file AmpliTube_5_0_1.dmg) installed and working perfectly on my Mac (MacOS 11.x) until a few days ago. After upgrading to MacOS Monterey (12.0.1), Amplitube 5 started to crash at startup while Custom Shop and IK Product Manager worked fine.

My first attempt was to update amplitube thru IK Product Manager. I've first updated IK Product Manager from client version 1.0.2 to client version 1.0.4. IK Product Manager has then managed to update AT5 to version 5.2 (file AmpliTube_5_2_0B.dmg). After that, AT5 crashed at startup while Custom Shop and IK Product Manager worked fine.

My second attempt was to proceed with a clean install. I uninstalled everything, then verified that all IK Multimedia packages were removed from the Application folder, then checked and cleared the (HOME)/Library folder of all IK Multimedia contents in folders Application support, preferences, caches etc.
After cleaning everything, I have installed again IK Product Manager client version 1.0.4 and, with it, Amplitube 5 (again version 5.2, file AmpliTube_5_2_0B.dmg) and Custom Shop.
The final result was exactly the same I had obtained in the first attempt: IKPM and CS perfectly working, AT5 crashing

As a third attempt, I again uninstalled everything (see second attempt), and tried to install the previously running version of AT5 (version 5.1, file AmpliTube_5_0_1.dmg). Not surprisingly, I obtained the same result as above, i.e., Custom Shop and IK Product Manager perfectly working and AT5 crashing at startup.

I finally performed another clean install of AT5 version 5.2, as in second attempt, captured the problem screen on the Mac and sent it in to IK Multimedia Support.

And of course, poste my help request here in the forum.

Grateful (and I mean it) for any help to solve this issue.

Thank you

Hello.
Curious if you can install AT4 on this MAC? If you have a license, that may get you by.
Cheers.

Hello.
One other thought is that the M1 MACs have a compatibility mode feature. You may check into that and ensure that it's run in the correct mode.
Cheers.

Thank you Vincent_n003.

You are right and I might try to fall back to AT4 and loose my nice new presets :)

As for M1 processor compatibility mode I have no idea. The processor worked well before upgrading from Catalina to Monterey.

Let's hope IK Multimedia support and/or Apple sort this mess out :)

Thanks for your support.

Hello.
You can try to run the app as an Intel base program to see if it will run without crashing.
Toward the bottom of the article is how to run a universal program with Rosetta.

AmpliTube 5 definitely runs in Monterey so if anybody with this issue hasn't reported it to IK Support directly please do so. They can figure out what is happening in your case and get it taken care of directly with you.
