Amplitube 4 Latency

Postby coronaride » Fri Jan 08, 2021 6:07 pm

Hi, I'm using AmpliTube 4 with a PreSonus 2|6 and I'm experiencing some pretty bad delay. I do not experience this latency with any other applications. I have set the buffer size to 2048 and if I set it for anything less than that, the audio starts clipping pretty badly. This essentially makes the application unusable for me. The CPU meter is always low. My PreSonus firmware and drivers are all up to date. I'm running a Intel i7-9700K @ 3.60GHz and 64GB RAM on Windows 10. Please help.

2048 is WAY too long a latency buffer.

Have you tried going to "power schemes" and selecting "high performance" in windows?

It is already in high performance mode.

Then chances are it's the driver of the soundcard. You can try "ASIO for all" and see if that helps but you should have WAY lower latency than that.

BTW, are we at 44,1k for sample rate?

And sorry to keep typing, you said the presonus stuff was up to date, are you just experiencing this with amplitube 4?

Yes, 44.1kHz sample rate. The PreSonus firmware/drivers are all up to date. Not experiencing this with any other app.

I had been using DirectSound as the input source. When I tried ASIO I got an error, so I tried installing ASIO For All just now and, while I'm able to now select ASIO, it doesn't show any input sources.

So, this is standalone? Does it work with host?

As this is primarily a user to user forum, someone-else may chip in with further ideas. But please remember that the same symptoms do not necessarily mean the same problem.

Meanwhile, the best thing to do is contact Support, via here. There is a link at the top of the Search FAQs page to the Technical Support form, for some one to one investigation and help. Response time is usually within 2 working days (US (East Coast) Business hours, generally), but in the current circumstances please allow some more time.

And, to help others who run into a similar problem, please let us know what you did to resolve the problem. Please do not quote directly any correspondence from Support, as that may apply only to your particular circumstances.
