AT5 Crashing on Startup

Postby JonnyLo94 » Thu Dec 24, 2020 1:12 am

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked but I couldn't find it.

I just bought AT5 (not SE or Max editions), and it was working just fine for a few hours, no problems. I shut it down, and whenever I try to reopen it, the loading bar gets to about 30% and then the app just quits. I restarted my computer and that didn't help.

I have an RTX 2060, ryzen 2600, 16GB RAM.

Anyone have a fix for this? It was working fine earlier.

Many thanks,

Jonny

edit: Sorry just found some posts regarding the same sort of issue. Hopefully a fix out soon

Having the same thing happen even after the update. For me, the standalone version is what crashes, but the plugin vst works fine? Strange? I've already put in a trouble ticket. No response yet.

Yeah, the standalone version is crashing but I saw some people using a programme called 'reaper' so I downloaded that and AT5 works as a plugin.

But personally I have no interest in using another programme to run it, the standalone version should run on its own. Weirdly it was working fine for the first few hours.

Let me know if you find a solution!

I agree. Typically I use the standalone unless I'm playing over wav/mp3 files and want to fade out the bass parts so that I can play them.

I just discovered IK's Mixbox and it is even better than AT5. You've got to check it out on youtube or here on IK. It does everything that I wanted in AT5. It's more expensive though (I used my jampoints and made it better). It is now my go-to!!

I'll let you know if i hear back on the stand alone

I am having the same problem. It worked as a standalone for a few months and then the same issue is now happening. Any solutions yet?

Hi,

Try going to:

C:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\IKMultimedia\AmpliTube 5

Delete the settings.properties file. Then reopen AT5. This works as a temporary solution for me and several others.

Let me know if it works. It does remove your prior settings though like Audio preferences and things like that. My saved presets still work fine though.

Thanks,

This worked. But I need to do it each time before I start A5 standalone.

Happened to me also. Crashes in stand alone. In my system, Windows 10, I went into my Asus Motherboard BIOS and turn OFF the onboard sound system. I'm only using my Apollo Twin for audio. Save and Restart and it has been working just fine since. Also solved other issues when loading Cubase Pro 11.
Hope this helps.
