How to uninstall Amplitube 4 CS on MacOS

Postby garrettendi » Mon Nov 30, 2020 12:01 pm

Hi

I plan to uninstall Amplitube 4 CS when 5 CS is released, but I cannot find any way of doing this including in the IK Product Manager.

How do I achieve this?

Yes that will work for the standalone but what about all the other files and VST etc plugins. I don't want to have to hunt down every single file manually.

I don't know about that. I'm not deleting AT4 as I've still got projects with it loaded.

Hi garrettendi

From the Installation and Authorization Manual:

"Mac®
NOTE: in order to be able to install and uninstall IK Multimedia products on your Macintosh computer, you must be a user with Administrator rights.

On the mounted DMG, double-click on the “Install (Ver. x).pkg” file and follow the onscreen instructions. The Standalone version is installed in your “Applications” folder.

The User Manual is placed in:
Macintosh HD / Library / Documentation / IK Multimedia /

Uninstall
On the mounted DMG, double-click on the ‘Uninstall’ icon and follow the onscreen instructions."

If you don't have the original installer, download the package again from User Area>My Products>Past Releases and that has the Uninstaller within it.

But, like supanorton said, if you have projects that use AT4CS they will not work properly after you have deleted it. AT5CS (or any of the versions) is a separate installation and does not install on top but by the side of previous versions.

Hope that helps.

Thanks garfy, that is exactly what I needed. I actually installed using the Product Manager, so am I right in thinking the dmg from Past Releases will still work to uninstall?

I would think so, as the Product Manager ("IKPM") does not (currently?) have an Uninstall feature.
