Ampeg SVX and Midi

Postby Gerry1943 » Mon Sep 09, 2019 11:02 pm

Can the Bass Ampeg SVX modeling software be used on Midi bass tracks or must it be used strictly with audio Bass tracks?

Thank you in advance for any info.
Regards

Ampeg SVX is a collection of gear models that can be loaded in AmpliTube 4. They are used to process audio, not MIDI.

If you want to use MIDI then have a look at MODO Bass:

If you are talking about the standalone Amplitube app, as DarkStar says the answer is probably "no" (unless perhaps you have some way of routing audio output from a MIDI player to the Amplitube app).

However, if you are talking about using the Amplitube plugin within a DAW, then the answer would (or should) be "yes".

I often compose/record demos with MIDI in Logic Pro X, and I've set up my template and customized channel strips to use Amplitube as a plugin on my MIDI guitar and bass tracks. The results sound pretty decent, IMO.

It all depends on what Gerry1943 meant by "MIDI bass tracks". I read it as a track with a MIDI item on it.

But, if he means MIDI notes that are sent to a Bass plug-in (such as MODOBass) to create some bass audio, then AmpliTube can certainly be used to effect that audio.

We await Gerry1943's return :)
