[Not officially supported] Firmware update on windows 7

Postby ohmstudiste » Fri Oct 05, 2018 11:43 pm

I just bought a Uno Synth wich I like a lot but I wanted to update the firmware and it doesn't support Win 7 apparently. When I try to update I got message "wrong path".
I can't understand why you would chose to not allow people on win 7 to update the product.
As you probably know many hobbyist and pro user are still running win 7 for their DAW.
What is the solution except finding another computer which I cannot do in the next weeks ?
The features of 1.1.1 decided me to buy the synth and if I can't update the synth I'll have to return it.
So please fing a solution.

So far I didn't get a reply from support but here are some information:
I tried with a computer on win 10 and it produces the exact same results:
- Uno synth is recognized by the firmware updater
- On the synth the display shows "UPd"
- On the software it displays "entering bootloader mode"
- When I click update a window appears displaying "wrong paths"

I noticed that the uno synth is on firmware 1.01. Can I go straight to 1.1.1 or am I suppose to go to 1.0.2 first and if so where can I find it ?
Also on the device manager the "uno bootloader" appears as a unknown device. I guess it's normal but just wanted to mention it.
Can I try updating with midi cables ?

Hey Guys,

Sorry to hear of all the troubles here.

I do want to confirm for everyone here, the UNO Synth firmware updater is not Windows 7 compatible. As mentioned on the downloads page this is Windows 8 or later.

And on Win10 Home, I had the same issue. Tried a different USB cable and voila! Problem solved. Try another cable.

Make sure to check with support to see what could be going on with your 4th unit. They should be able to help. Once your ticket is open, feel free to PM me the ticket number so I can follow the ticket's progress.
