Lowering range of MODO bass

Postby Bert Guy » Wed Oct 27, 2021 3:42 am

I have downloaded more than one midi arrangement of pop songs where MoDo won't play the lower bass notes- all in the lowest octave. It acknowledges the notes on the MODO keyboard but the keys are greyed out and they won't sound. Is there any way to extend the range lower. 'drop D' option doesn't get it.

Thanks in advance for any help, here.

Bumping this topic for a slightly different reason - I need the bass to be able to reach G0. At the moment, with selected models + using the 'drop' feature, it only goes as low as A0. Is this possible?

I do not know what DAW you are using.
Step 1:
Most DAWS can transpose MIID.
-- Reaper: Transpose
-- ProTools: Transpose

Transpose the entire MIDI track up 9 semi-tones. The G0 you are trying to achieve is now E1.

Step 2:
Most DAWS have a pitch shifter plugin:
-- Reaper: ReaPitch.
-- ProTools: TimeShift.

Put a pitch shifter after MODO Bass on your effects stack, drop it by 9 semi-tones.
The transposed E1 will now be G0 again.

Not sure what you are doing, but is sounds 'skanky' to me :)

Seems I can change the P-bass to a 6-string model and go down to B.
But you can't go lower than E on the studio upright Any workaround to this?
