Font display wacky in Modo Drum

Postby Chasdaddi » Thu Apr 22, 2021 10:03 pm

Just installed Modo Drum. There are unreadable fonts rendering the program useless. Anyone having the same issue? Sent a ticket in but have yet to hear back.

Hi Chasdaddi

Hmm, haven't heard of this issue in MODO Drum only in ST4.

As this is a user-to-user forum and not direct to IKM support, in case no one else chimes in here with advice or a solution the best thing to do is check the FAQs, via https://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-su ... ck=QUICKSW

If these do not resolve the issue, there is a link to the Technical Support form at the top of the Search FAQs page, for direct help from Official IK Support. They endeavour to reply within 2 working days, but obviously considering the current situation things may take longer than usual.

And, to help others who run into a similar problem, please let us know what you did to resolve the issues, but without directly quoting any correspondence from official support.

Garfy

Thanks for the response. I have a ticket for that issue on 4/16/21 (have yet to hear back) the day I purchased Total Studio 3 Maxgrade. Is there a way to post a pic in this thread? for anyone to see? The program loads and is usable, the field fonts are some weird symbols. The faq's that are here don't really resolve the issue.

Please reply to the auto-acknowledgement email that you got from Support (presuming that you filled in the Technical Support form) and send them the pics.

Support was sent photos twice. How long does it typically take them to respond?
Have you ever seen anything like this?

No, but my system is too old for MODO Drum (no AVX instructions)

Check out the forum Guidelines for info about escalating Support Tickets.

This is for windows 10. You must uninstall Modo Drum 1st
Please when you can go to the location below and location the Fonts folder for your system

1. Open File Explorer (Win+E).
2. Show hidden files using the View tab.
3. Open the C:\\ drive.
4. Go to C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts

Once you locate the Fonts folder, uninstall any "User Fonts" and add the fonts from this email. Next, reinstall MODO DRUM.

If you wish to keep any user fonts, go ahead and move these elsewhere for the re installation process, then launch MODO DRUM to make sure everything loads okay.

From here you should be okay to add your fonts back in.

I was facing the similar problem on my trial of MODO Drum: some fonts do not show at all and other fonts show weird chars. I followed only the instructions of uninstalling MODO drums, removing previously installed user fonts from C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts, and then reinstalling MODO drums and it worked!

So maybe the fonts that IK support sent you are not really required but emptying the custom fonts from "C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts" is.

Please go back to Support with your workaround.

However, the presence of user fonts should not upset (the installation? or the running? of) MODO Drums, so there is definitely something there to be fixed.
