Irig HDA not working - Samsung Galaxy S7

Postby dan_austin76 » Fri Jan 13, 2017 6:14 pm

I am probably missing something here, so forgive me if there is an obvious answer to this that I should have worked out.

When I plug my irig hda into the phone once amplitube is on the input seems to be coming in from the phone microphone, not the guitar that is plugged in. The guitar sound is simply very faint with lots of latency. I have looked at the manual and there is no obvious answer there. All I am getting is lots of outside sound of cables moving, feet shuffling etc. and a very faint guitar signal.

Presumably if it was functioning correctly, the irig would disable the phone mic and take over its input?

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

Dan

I think I may have sussed this, I think it's to do with the professional audio app not running, try this and see if it helps.

Go to:
Settings
Apps

In the drop down box select "Show System Apps"
Scroll down to "Professional Audio"
In "Permissions" make sure "Phone" is active

Make sure you don't have anything running, plug HDA into phone then run AmpliTube.
Check to see if the Professional Audio app has started.
Set it to use the Professional Audio (Can't remember what it's called, there are only 2 options and it's not the normal Android one).
Then set the latency to Medium

Then try AmpliTube.

This seems to have worked for me. Note 5.

Right, that only worked for a while but now I have it!
Install Soundcamp.
This updates the Samsung Professional Audio files to the latest versions.
Plug in the HDA, then run Amplitube, pull down the quick panel and set the latency and it should work.
I've spent hours on this stuff.

I think I have the same problem. When I initially started the app in Note 4 it would prompt me to switch to professional audio. Now I do not get the prompt. I cannot find it in settings. Will keep trying.

I downloaded and had USB Audio Recorder & Audio Evolution Mobile Studio run in the background still nothing while running AmpliTube. Suggested by iRig tech support.
I have a Samsung Note 4.

When I first plugged the iRig HD-A it came up with a prompt to use a certain USB audio driver, I forget. But it did work. Now no prompt and I just get a humming sound.

Please help me.

Amazingly the remote people at Samsung solved this problem.
I still do not know how they got to the settings they changed.
They used SmartTutor to access my phone.
I highly recommend the people at Samsung.
Having a beer now to celebrate.
