Recording Classic Guitar using T-Racks Plugins in Sonar

Postby Fernandodacosta » Mon Nov 18, 2019 7:54 pm

Good day
Could you please tell me if this is possible:

Recording Nylon String Acoustic Guitars:
I would like to know if it is possible to process the sound coming from the Audio Interface ( Guitar > M-Audio > PC > DAW Cakewalk >T-Racks Plugins > Recorded signal ) using your T-Racks plugins.
In other words, I would like to pass the audio sound through the T-Racks plugins EQ 81 > Precision Comp/Limiter > Tape Echoflex during the recording process.
Is this possible?

Thank you.

Hi Stenio

Did you have any luck using the plugins to process the nylon string guitar audio before takes/ recording?

So far I did not manage to achieve it. I tried a few options and the result is always a pure audio signal without any plugin processing. Of course one can always use the plugins after recording but it is not same. You are monitoring a diferent sound while recoring and that may afect you playing.

Now. How do these amp and effects emulations work.?

Hey Fernando,

Certainly possible to “print” the effects you want onto a track as you record it. I don’t do this myself but it’s fairly straightforward and here’s a video. Now it’s for Logic but the concept will hold true on any DAW.

I just did a little vox test myself now and certainly works.

Good luck and have fun!

Hi Michael

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to explain how to record audio while processing the input with plugins.

Thank you again. Be inspired and keep on making making music.
