Fresh install on my music workstation

Postby dougs.ik » Wed Jul 15, 2020 11:19 pm

I have lots of IK products authorized on my mixing desk computer. I'm about to replace a failing OS drive. Is there any way to preserve the authorizations for when the new disk and fresh Windows 10 install is done? The issue is I have a performance laptop and an identical backup of that laptop so I have three computers with authorizations. The only hardware I'm changing is the hard drive. Will this eat up an authorization for each of the products?

Thanks

No, they cannot be preserved.

The Authorization Manager may or may not consider the new disk drive and fresh W10 install as a different system. It, I think, all depends on the generated Digital Id.

But it will not be a problem anyway. 10 Authorizations are available for each product. If by any chance you use up all 10, then Support will, in all reasonable circumstances, reset the Authorisations, making 10 available again.
