Engage SampleTank on iOS Solo mode in Live Mode using MIDI

Postby MichaelJOConnell007 » Sun May 14, 2023 12:31 am

I want to engage Solo mode for an instrument/part in Live Mode. There are two ways to do this within the interface but they are not quite the same.

The first is to double-tap the instrument. The instrument flashes/pulses. This soft-mutes the other instruments and soft-unmutes the double-tapped instrument. A subsequent single tap then reverts all instruments to their previous states and the instrument stops flashing. This method will play the selected instrument even if it is hard-muted with the Mute/speaker symbol in its controls below in the interface.

The second method is to engage the Solo/Headphone symbol in the instrument's controls. This also soft-mutes the other instruments and returns them to their previous state afterwards just as the double-tap/single-tap method above. However - and here is the problem - it does not soft-unmute the soloed instrument if it is hard-muted.

Is this by design? Is there a workaround? I am using MIDI. Is there a way to use MIDI to do this using the Solo/headphone symbol or to mimic the double-tap/single-tap method?

Thanks,

Michael
