Using mic as input to iRig HD2

As the title says, are there any problems using a microphone, SM58 clone, as the input device into an iRig HD2. I want to mic up my amp and record it onto my iPad.

iRig HD 2 is not a mic preamp. It accepts instrument and line level signals. So you'd need to convert your mic to a line-level signal with an adapter if you wanted to use it with your iRig HD 2.
