iRig 2 with guitar and Logic

Postby garycsonka » Sat Oct 05, 2019 9:29 pm

Hi,

I have iRig2 connected to a guitar and my Mac.
I use it with Logic and it does work but but there is a strong background noise that I don't know how to stop (if I choose a metal amp the noise is very loud).

Should I change the audio settings somehow? (I only have built in audio)

iRig is not an option there I could select.

thanks
Gary

You will not see iRig 2 as an available interface as it is an analog device that plugs into the combo input/output jack (usually referred to as "External Microphone / iPhone headset" on your system). There will unfortunately be a lot more noise with an analog input device like this that plugs into your combo input/output jack. USB/digital interfaces are much more quiet with very little noise.

For any high gain settings I'd recommend trying a noise gate in the audio program you are using.
