His tone, as much as it's attributed to his Vox amps, also is the result of his own made "red special" guitar. The guitar has individual phase reversal switches for the pickups which allows him to play with out-of-phase pickup combinations. That's why it's hard to replicate his unique tone.
That being said, I couldn't managed to get even close to the sound with the included British AC in amplitube
If someone has a good approximation, I'd like to try as well.
