MIDI newb, Blueboard with hardware?

Postby kencsharp » Sat Nov 24, 2018 1:50 am

Blueboard question from a MIDI-ot. Had previously used the board with an iRig for church so it was all app based... For normal gigs currently using hardware stereo effects through amp loops in my backline, and rather than run an extra 4 cables to the front of stage I was wondering if I could just use the Blueboard up front to an iPad on the backline with my MIDI effects to change settings and do on/offs. The iRig MIDI looks like the right physical connection, what app would be used to interface? Or have I struck upon a non-compatible /impractical application for the Blueboard? Any links to MIDI basics vids for guitar players with iPads? Give a dude a clue! Thanks.

Could you further elaborate on this usage? What kind of controls do your MIDI FX use?

If these accept MIDI PC or MIDI CC messages, the iRig MIDI 2 and iRig BlueBoard should work great for this type of usage. This would require an app which allows MIDI output like MIDI flow. This route MIDI from the iRig BlueBoard to the iRig MIDI 2 output.
