Simultaneous guitar & Web browsing with iRig > iPad?

Postby strummer61 » Fri Dec 30, 2016 11:42 pm

I've got an iRig & iPad mini 2

Both AmpliTube & Garageband work fine, but I want to play along to online lessons. As soon as I close AmpliTube or GarageBand, the sound is gone.

Is there any way to use the iRig simultaneously while web browsing?

Thanks

I think I over complicated that.

I'm trying to play along with online videos.

How do I hear my guitar along with the video?

Thanks

Doesn't your iRig have a 1/4" output jack? If you ran that output to some sort of external speakers or small amp and changed the output in Amplitube to the iRig, then you would hear the video on your iPad while your guitar sound would come out of the speakers.
Do you follow?

Thanks Glen

It's the standard iRig I have. So it has a standard jack guitar input & mini jack headphone output.

It's really frustrating, because I can play music in iTunes & close iTunes to browse, the music continues. So it's not a limitation of the iPad/iPhone.

Is there a setting within iRig/AmpliTube to make it continue to sound in the background? I just joined GuitarTricks in hope of improving my playing, but I can't do what I need to do.

OMG!!!!!!

In the huge array of 5 settings in AmpliTube, there's one called "Background Audio"

The clue is in the words. Switched it on & it works!

Note that this thread refers to the iOS versions of AmpliTube. Tap the menu icon (top right of the interface), go to Settings, and then Background Audio will be found there. Thank you.

Ah, I have Windows version. So I guess I'm out of luck using a secondary app to play audio while using AmpliTube :(
