Lurssen Mastering Console distorted audio using ASIO

Postby gerryhavinga » Sun Aug 11, 2019 10:07 am

Using Windows 10 standalone Lurssen Mastering Console works fine under WASAPI but when I select ASIO (using Steinberg UR824 at 48KHz) sound is extremely distorted.

This also makes LMC unusable under Bitwig (as I am using the ASIO drivers).

Any idea what is wrong here?

Let us know what happened I'm having a similar distortion/breaking up/crackling problem with it on the main fader in Cakewalk by Bandlab.

I would suggest opening a ticket as issues that may appear to be the same are frequently not exactly the same. The support team would be the most expedient way to get your specific issue resolved and they can be reached at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support

Also make sure your audio interface buffer size is set high/large enough for mastering purposes. If you were tracking at 64 but didn't change to something like 1024 for mixing/mastering, you're going to run into these types of issues.

I have to set my buffers in Cakewalk to 2048 and even then still get audio dropouts! At the moment LMC is not of any use to me.

Yeah, I maxed the buffers as high as they would go, with only one audio track and no other plugins to no avail.

Thanks... changing my buffer from 256 to 1024 fixed me.

I rolled back to the earlier version and all works fine. I have to do without the extra presets and anything else that was updated/fixed, but in my case there's no doubt that the latest version is far more CPU hungry than the earlier one. Disappointing.

To all users: please report that increased CPU usage to Support so that they can investigate (and fix). In the Release Notes, I cannot see any real reason for such increase CPU.

Still the same problem in 2022, unfortunately! Thank you very much for your reply & temporary workaround - i rolled back to the old driver (1.0.3), back from 2016 & it works now!
