Free vs. Paid version of Classic EQ

Postby auggybendoggy2 » Fri Aug 10, 2018 1:17 am

I understand that the free version of Classic EQ is limited. Only peak meters show. But I can't for the life of me find a place to buy Classic EQ. The one place to buy it has "FREE" on sale now!

Ok, but if I want to buy it to get the other features?

Now I see the Metering plug in, but in my custom shop it shows I own Metering. So I'm confused.

My best guess is - even though I own Metering from the previous version of Tracks, I'll have to buy it again for Tracks5. Am I right about that? And yea, the previous version must have been free because I don't recall buying it.

TR5 CS product page wrote:Free version of T-RackS including the Custom Shop, the Classic EQ and basic Metering functionality

I understood that the (now free) Classic EQ is the same as the (once paid for) Classic EQ. Where did you see differences mentioned?

TR4 Metering may well be different from that is TR5. And TR5 CS has a constrained Metering plug-in, the paid-for version unlocks additional features (I cannot recall which ones). Check this page https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tr5metering/ for the features. ANd these FAQS: https://cgi.ikmultimedia.com/ikforum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14225

If I remember correctly, if you install TR5 CS you will then have TR5 versions (64-bit only) of your existing T-RackS plug-ins. Give that a try before doing anything else.

NB: There is a T-RackS 5 Group But in progress during August:

Yes, I believe your link addresses my question. If you want the extra meters, you have to buy the metering plugin. That explains it.

Thanks for the help.
