64-bit Mac applications

Postby beeflin » Sat Apr 21, 2018 12:44 pm

Custom Shop and Authorization Manager are still 32-bit applications even though Amplitube and T-RackS are now 64-bit. Are IK working on a completely 64-bit range and when are these expected?

IK does not have a specific date for the 64-bit versions of those standalone versions that run 32-bit but stay tuned here, on our site or newsletter, or social media where we will share news as it is available. Thank you.

Thank you. I've become technocurious since macOS 10.13.4 started warning about 32-bit apps :-)

There is no news to share at this time, but Authorization Manager does run smoothly on 64-bit systems.

As some of us are using the latest macOS beta it would be great it a true 64bit macOS authorization manager will exist.

Are you having issues running Authorization Manager? Note that support will look at any information sent but if you are using a beta version of an OS it may not be something they can or will resolve on your beta build until the full release version is out.

Peter - concern is that for the upcoming MacOS Catalina releasing fall 2019, 32-bit applications are no longer supported and will not work. The standalone Authorization Manager and Custom Shop would be affected and will no longer work. MacOS 10.15 Catalina is currently in Public Beta 5 version, so would be available to your team.

thanks.

It is still in beta, the team tests with upcoming and new versions of operating systems. If there is news about compatibility in any way, IK will share pertinent information at the time of release. We don't post status of any of our software running on beta versions of operating systems.

It is also not recommended to upgrade your systems to a new operating system on day one (or to use beta versions) on any computer you are using for your music production unless you are able to face problems that do sometimes occur with new OS releases (not unique to IK's tools or a suggestion unique to us) especially if you are using that system for serious music production, commercial/work use of music production tools, and similar.

Peter - thanks for the quick reply. Knowing that IK is working on this works for me, and is a positive change from when there was no news about this.
