Sampletank, Sidechain, and Ableton

Hi,

I figured I'd ask here first.

I've got a drum kit set up on my first channel on ST4. I want to use just the kick for sidechaining. I'm working in Ableton. Does anyone know any solutions? Thanks very much!

Sidechaining with just the kick would require that the kick is on its own separate channel (or track), and that channel is assigned to a separate output.

So the first question is specifically which drum kit do you have on your first channel? The next question is does this drum kit have just the kick as a separate instrument that you can put on a second channel with its separate output. If so then you can route that separate output to your sidechain input in Ableton.

That pretty much covers the Sampletank part of it.

I will leave it up to an actual Ableton user to post how to set up sidechaining in Ableton
