Importing Sampletron Instruments into Sample Tank 4[Resolved

Postby hotmitts » Fri Apr 17, 2020 12:15 pm

Hi folks, hope everyone is keeping well !

So I'm trying to import my Instruments from Sampletron, into the Sampletank 4 CS, so I can access them in 64 bit.

I've gone to Settings and pointed the 'Sound Content' page at the 'Tron Instruments folder

- but I can't see an Import option anywhere (only 'Import samples'). The 'Tron instruments don't show up in the 'Tank browser.

How would I do this please ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello hotmitts and welcome to the forums.

You currently can't do this direct into ST4, but you can import into ST3 format which ST4 can then use.

If you don't have ST3 already, you should find the CS (free) version of ST3 in your User Area. Install it and use the import function there. Once the libraries are imported, you can direct ST4 to use the ST3 content via the Sound Content tab, which will include your SampleTron instruments.

Let us know how you get on.

Thank you Garfy for your eply

I looked for sampletank 3 on my user page, maybe that's the 'sampletank Free' version from 2017. I'll try installing that now.

EDIT -actually that's the 2.5 version, I can't actually see an option to download version 3, just 2 and 4 ?

[Oops - too late, but already typed]
ST4 does not have an Import feature.

Download and install "SampleTank Custom Shop" (v3.7.3) from your User Area / My Products - you probably only need ST3, as you may well have the Custom Shop and Authorization Manager programs installed already.

Then, using ST3, Import the SampleTron instruments into the ST3 library. If you have any SampleTron Combis, Import those into ST3 Multis too.

When done, in ST4's Settings, add the ST3 library path. You should then see them under the "ST3 Imported" category. And you can switch to the folder view in the Browser to see them more easily - click the folder icon in the top-left corner
