Rebuild ST4 DB with legacy original folder names? [Resolved

Postby jppineau » Tue Jul 09, 2019 6:16 am

Hello!

I just installed ST4 SE along with ST3 + Syntronik Deluxe. I also imported my ST2.5XL, Miroslav 1, Sonic Synth 2, SampleMoog and SampleTron instruments and presets into ST3 successfully. In fact everything seems to work just fine and to be at the right place.

The only deception so far is that all presets from the above legacy products appear as SampleTank 2 stuff. No more SampleMoog, SampleTron, etc. sub folder. So, every Sampletron preset, for example, is lost in an ocean of legacy patches.

For the sake of organization, I am curious to know if there's a possibility to see where these patches come from... like in ST3

Is it possible to rebuild a database with their source names?

One last observation : In the Library Pane, aside the SyntroniK instruments, I see ST4, ST3, ST3 SE, ST3 Free... Then, at the end of list, "ST4 Imported" and "ST3 imported". Those last folders are duplicates of what I can find into the first top folders in regard of the imported stuff. Everyone has the same behavior?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, this is expected behaviour and currently the database does not build with the original instrument folders being shown, such as SampleTron, SampleMoog etc.

I certainly didn't find it on my own either. A user on another forum pointed this one out to me ... can't remember who it was though

Is that covered in the ST4 User Manual?

If not, please raise a Support Ticket asking for it to be included.

BobF3,

Would you take care of DarkStar's request, as you have the source material? Otherwise, I will.

Well, there you go. You learn something new every day.

I guess I don't use Folder view that often.

Nice one!

How dare you not memorize the entire manual???

Seriously, though, it isn't exactly the most searchable thing I can think of, so it is totally understandable. I'll take a look to see if there's a better way to explain or really to help people find that.
