Sampletank Patterns Not Recording in Studio One 4

Postby apcmse » Sat Nov 24, 2018 5:32 am

I've just downloaded the free samples from Sampletank to try them before buying the entire MAX edition.

I can trigger the patterns, but when I hit the record button in the DAW to record them and try and change the key they don't record.

The only way I can get the patterns onto my timeline is via dragging them, but I want to play the midi patterns via triggering them off each key.

But when I drag the pattern to a key on my midi, they play but don't record.

The midi player is working, because it records single notes from the Sampletank library.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Adam

Hello Adam and welcome to the forum.

This is expected behaviour. Recording into MIDI will only record the trigger key to then replay the loop in ST3, it will not record the pattern into MIDI.

If you want the MIDI pattern on a MIDI track in your DAW to manipulate, drag and drop is the way to go.

Check out Section 3.4 (starting on page 36) of the User Manual for details on using patterns.

Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for confirming that for me, I thought that might have been the case and will do the drag n drop thing.

Cheers,
