Problems loading and using MP2

Postby jaisonjohnson » Thu Sep 27, 2018 1:15 pm

I have bought the Miroslav 2 and installed it. Prior to that I had bought and installed ST3. After the install of MP2 it stated there should be a stand along icon of which there isn't. When I open ST3 I can see st3 sounds and then a seperate icon showing MP2 sounds. However, when I try to load any of the MP2 sounds an error message comes up always saying "failed to load instrument". So I have two issues: one is that there is no stand alone version of MP2 and the second is that none of the instruments will load in st3. Any ideas?

Hello jaisonjohnson and welcome to the forum.

If there isn't a desktop icon you can always navigate the folder where you installed the MP2 program and run it from there. Or, while you are there, create a shortcut and move it to the Desktop.

As for the "fail to load" errors - it sounds like the MP2 Sounds Library files were not downloaded and installed (58 GB when installed). Or they we not installed into the right folder.

What you can see in the ST3 Browser are the MP2 "instrument-definition" files (.st3i file extension). They contain references to the sample files (.pak file extension). Have a look in the Instruments and Samples sub-folders in the ST3 library. You should see files for the MP2 instruments and samples there.
