Changing my computer. do i need to de-register ?

Postby s.rudolph » Tue Aug 07, 2018 4:52 pm

hi.
i have a few softwares from IKM, and i plan to change my computer in the not too distant future..
Must i de-register my software after un-installing it ?..
Is there a process for that ?.
I am only using 1 licence for each and in the future i may use 2 (desktop and laptop), and maybe IKM allows 3, but it i would prefer that the licence not be attached to a computer sitting in a dump site somewhere .

thanks !

Hi s.rudolph

There is no method of de-authorizing IK software. If you look in your User Area at your software authorisations, you will notice that you start with 10 and, if you do manage to run out, contact IK support who will help you out should you need it.

As for leaving licences (or any) data on a computer that's heading for landfill, have you considered removing the HD and putting it in a caddy to be used as archive storage? I've still got 15-year old IDE drives that I use as my backup backup.

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for your reply. I doubt i will EVER run out of 10 installations, lol...

As for yanking my hard drive out.. that is a cool idea !.... Probably way more difficult on a mac than a pc though..

If you're not sure about how a Mac comes apart, try looking on ifixit.com and searching for your model of Mac. They've got manuals on just about every type of Mac, with details of how to strip down and rebuild them.
