MP2 "Unable to copy the instruments" error message

How to fix the " "The Miroslav Philharmonik 2 Sound Content (1 of 16) installation failed. Unable to copy the instruments" error message "

The issue is that the folder where your soundbank is stored and the folder from which you are installing from is too long of a path name. Just a quick explanation of what I am talking about before I explain the fix;

Quoting from http://vimalsuresh.com/2013/08/08/how-to-fix-file-path-too-long-error-while-copying-deleting-or-opening-files-without-using-third-party-applications/ "There is a pre-defined character limit beyond which you cannot name a file or folder, and it varies from one OS to another. Mostly it varies between 256 and 260 characters. This is the character limit for a file name, which excludes the file path under which it is located, like “C:\Documents and Settings\Test User\Desktop\test file.txt”. But, when you copy a file from one location, it takes into account the entire file path. So, if the file is residing under a folder which is too deep or too long, that has a length beyond the set-limit, you will get errors like the ones shown above."

The fix is quite simple, shorten the names of the folders/move your sampletank3 soundbank into a folder with LESS subfolders
Examples:
C:\Documents\User\Desktop\SampleTank3\... move to C:\Documents\User\SampleTank3\...
or
C:\Documents\User\SampleTank3\... rename to C:\Documents\User\ST3\...

I hope this helps,

This should NOT be happening. Even unzipping the files to a location not far below the root directory can cause this issue, because the app's files are stored in a series of nested folders, each of which have very long names. The cause is therefore IKM's file and directory naming and nesting method for this app.

Furthermore, to IKM's response to this thread, 'It is recommended that you follow the steps in the official FAQ if you have this issue' followed by a link: the link is dead.

This isn't a cheap product. As an IT pro of several decades I was appalled by the directory structure of this app. It should be repackaged asap.

The dead link is from a post from 2016 and the web site has been changed since then. The FAQ section of the site is currently at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/faq/ and we have a great tech support team that would be happy to assist you at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support with any issue as this forum is not a medium for direct technical support. Thank you.
