IK Multimedia is proud to announce the brand new Fulltone Collection for AmpliTube for Mac/PC, which offers guitarists and all musicians an essential palette of sounds that span from classic to contemporary tones.

Guitarist Michael Fuller founded Fulltone back in 1991, with the aim of building stompboxes that sounded as good as vintage pedals, but that were more rugged and reliable than the old, often fragile classics. Today, Fulltone is recognized as being one of the most committed and scrupulous manufacturers worldwide.

IK Multimedia's Fulltone Collection includes 3 powerful processors that are equally at home in music production as well as in creative sound design - the TERC - THAT '80'S RACK CHORUS!, SSTE - Solid State Tape Echo & OCD. Each meticulously modeled and developed to bring the best sounding and absolutely faithful emulation of their legendary hardware counterpart.

Nice. While the OCD model has been around for a while, the TERC and SSTE are worthy additions in and of themselves. I'm not quite '80s enough to be lit up by the TERC ;) but I am '70s enough to have already fired up the Custom Shop to trial the SSTE -- and particularly to A/B it with the existing EP Tape Echo model.

So far, I'm digging the SSTE model. :) The EP Tape Echo model always felt a bit dark to me (using a heavy-bodied HB-equipped guitar into the JH Gold), though it might be just the thing for a lighter single-coil guitar, but the SSTE preserves more high-end. The SSTE's ability to control the highs on the echoes is also nice, and the overall extra tweakability on the SSTE model may make it attractive to anyone looking for a more controllable tape-echo vibe. (And, of course, the AT model doesn't cost a thousand dollars either; nor does it require new tape cartridges every year!) I can't seem to tame the repeats on either the SSTE or EP Tape Echo model down to single repeats, so for that I still turn to the good old EchoMan model, but so it goes.

Oh, and though the SSTE model is presented as a rack unit, I think of tape echo as something that belongs before the amp -- which handily AT4 lets you do. 8-)

I love the tape echo, but WHY OH WHY did you model Fulltone pedals and NOT include the Supatrem and the Clyde Wah? Some of the best tremolos and wahs in the entire world!!!

Such a sad choice...

We worked directly with Fulltone to choose but there is nothing stopping us from doing more in the future!

You can also just search for the actual Fulltone manuals online. They should be a pretty good guide to what the corresponding AmpliTube models do!

Just for the record, the SSTE model has completely become my go-to delay unit in Amplitube. I know it's supposed to be a rack model, but I slap it into a stomp position ('cause I like that vibe of the delay actually going through the whole amp 8-) ).
