Hi everyone,
total noob here,
Im using free version of amplitube 4 with Cubase 5.
My problem is I can't see amplitube plug in in Cubase.
Have installed vstplugin in program files x68/steinberg/vstplugins folder on installation.
have authorized custom shop etc.
any help would be much appreciated. Im totally flummoxed.

Are you using AmpliTube as an insert effect on an audio track?

More important - is Cubase 5 a 64-bit DAW? AmpliTube 4 is 64-bit only.

Not sure what is happening. Might want to check if Cubase blacklisted AmpliTube for some reason. Beyond that I believe IK Support would be best-equipped to troubleshoot and resolve your issue. You can open a ticket via http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support and they will work with you. Thanks!

The programs (X86) folder is for 32 bits apps. Just try to install in programs folder- without "(x86)", for a try. (And there a 64 bits vst folder too).
I know, this post comes late :)
