Tonex Cab XLR or 1/4 “ input

Just wondering how most users are connecting to the Tonex Cab. I’m using a Fractal FM3 and using XLR to XLR to connect. I tried 1/4 “ and found it is louder but a tad noisy. That’s strange because the FM3 XLR has a 6 db boost over the 1/4 “ output. It’s plenty loud using XLR and I love the tone, I’m just curious what others users are doing.
