I have recently bought a full TONEX pedal and very much enjoying it...I have connected a HX Effects that I was not using just to control the effects on the TONEX via midi (Switch on and off reverb, chorus, delay etc) as well as tuner and tap tempo. It works well but I was wondering if there is a way to setup a two way midi communication so that when I change preset on the Tonex, the on-off status of the effects is reflected on the HX effects (or any midi controller really). As an example if I change from 22A to 22B on the Tonex and the delay is on on 22A but off on the 22B the change is reflected on the Helix. Is this possible?

According to the manual, TONEX Pedal sends MIDI messages depending on the MIDI THRU setting which might help:
MIDI.THRU – MIDI through setup: sets the preferred MIDI functionality for the MIDI through.
∙ OFF: no MIDI signals are sent to TONEX’s MIDI outputs.
∙ THRU: MIDI signals arriving to the TONEX’s MIDI inputs are sent to TONEX’s MIDI outputs (both USB and MIDI connector).
∙ MERGE: MIDI arriving to the TONEX MIDI inputs, and the MIDI signals generated by TONEX itself are merged and sent to the TONEX’s MIDI outputs (both USB and MIDI connector).
MERGE should help you there.

Thank you for your suggestion. it seems that if I set the MIDI to merge on the tonex, when I change patch on the tonex, it changes patch on the helix. but not always the same patch.
what I wasw trying to achieve (and I don't know if it is possible) is for the helix to stay on the same patch (the one programmed as a MIDI switcher) while reading what is on or off on each tonex patch while I go through them.
