Dual instance of Tonex vs AmpliTube for pedals

Has anyone noticed any difference between running two instances of Tonex vs using AmpliTube to feed a pedal capture into an amp capture? To my ears, running two instances of Tonex sounds a little better. AmpliTube sounds more dull in comparison. I would think they could be tweaked to sound the same and maybe the DAW is coloring the sound. It’s also possible it’s all in my imagination. Anyone else have a similar experience?
