New Irig Micro amp sounds amaizing on Ipad, terrible on Mac?

Just purchased an Irig Micro Amp last week. Got it going on my Ipad and it sounds amaizing. Go to my Mac and it sounds terrible. Scratchy and low volume. The setup is exactly the same except for the cable from the amp to the computer. My Mac only has usb-c ports, so I am using an adapter to make it work. could that be the issue? or is there a known issue somewhere else that I am not seeing after reading through all these posts? Any help would be great. Thanks

I ordered a new cable to get rid of the usb a to usb c adapter. I know they can often be a weak point. I will report back if it works.
