Where/How are "model presets" stored?

The subject line really says it all: Where/How are "model presets" stored? (They seem to be separate from the "general" presets.). I'm on a Mac, so that's what I'm looking for, though perhaps a path or something for Windows would be generally useful too. Or can these be accessed on the hard drive?
