Hello! I’m a faithful user of the big Tonex pedal.

I’ve been able to make it perform as my all in one rig.

I would love if it had a couple extra fx blocks so I can have an independent boost/overdrive.

Would also really be head over heels if it would be possible to add a basic looper/phrase sampler.

It would also be nice if the tuner and tap could be independent so I could mute the signal when tuning instead of having to run as “thru”.

Thanks!

More freedom in moving effects in chain; reverb before amp etc.

Hey IK team and community,

Here’s an updated list of suggestions to make the TONEX Pedal even better for live and studio use, based on my ideas and feedback from fellow musicians. Let me know your thoughts!

Built-in Screamer/Overdrive
Adding a Tubescreamer or Precision Drive-style overdrive block would greatly expand versatility. Many use external pedals (e.g., TS9), and an onboard screamer would simplify setups while adding flexibility for solos or tight high-gain tones.

Onboard Parametric or Graphic EQ
An onboard EQ (3–5 band graphic or parametric) would make live tone tweaks easier without relying on TONEX Editor. Many musician friends note that the current amp EQ options are limited for quick live adjustments.

Output EQ with High-Pass/Low-Pass Filters
An output EQ with adjustable filters (80–200 Hz and 8–12 kHz) would help tailor the sound to different rigs or PAs, cutting unwanted lows or harsh highs.

Improved Tuner
The current tuner works but isn’t always precise. A stroboscopic tuner in the pedal or a wider scale in the app with customizable reference frequencies would be perfect for stage use, especially in noisy environments.

Customizable Noise Gate
The noise gate can cut in too harshly, especially on high-gain tones, and sometimes triggers like a stroboscope, creating distracting pulsing effects. AmpliTube’s gate algorithm feels smoother, and I know you can outdo competitors with better threshold, attack, and release controls!

Improved UI and Preset Navigation
Preset navigation is clunky, especially live. A “Favorites” bank or bank switching via A+B+C footswitch presses would speed things up.

Expanded Effects
The recent effects update (delay, chorus, reverb) is great, but adding a wah (under external control), octaver, or pitch-shifter (with tap-tempo and pre/post options) would make TONEX more self-sufficient.

Clearer High-Gain Presets
Some users report high-gain presets sounding similar or muddy live. Improving AI modeling for better clarity and adding presence/definition controls would help. Could an extra-detailed/HD profile capture option be possible?

Enhanced MIDI Capabilities
MIDI functions are limited, hindering complex setups. Expanded parameter mapping (e.g., gain, EQ) and faster preset switching would improve integration with external controllers.

TONEX is already awesome, but these tweaks would make it a live-performance beast! Competitors are stepping up, but we love what you do, IK!

What do you think? Any features you’d add? Let’s keep the discussion going!
