Weird "under distortion" with Mesa TransAtlantic.

When I load up the preset "Boosted Crunch" I notice that I'm now getting what sounds like a high gain amp sound under the regular crunch tone. It sounds like I have two amp paths going, one very high gain, and one crunch, but the high gain is at a lot lower, but still noticeable volume. I thought maybe my EMGs needed a new battery, but I tried a Strandberg passive (Shur) pickup equipped guitar and the sound is still there. I downloaded a Tonex capture of the TA-30, and it sounds fine. I don't remember this issue with this model before. It's one of my favorites models. You can't hear it if you crank up the input gain, but then you just have a high gain sound, not a crunch. Is anyone else noticing this?

Hello zerocrossing! You should turn off each component in the preset to check which component is creating the hidden high-gain layer. Then monitor the status.

There's not much to turn off. That preset has the 7 band graphic EQ, but turning it off doesn't help. Turning off the cab, or replacing it with an IR, doesn't help. I've messed with every setting on the high gain channel that there is, and while some make it less obvious, it's never gone. It's like someone has a high gain amp path next to the main path that's always on, but sometimes masked a bit. What's weird is, I don't think it's always been like this, because I use this model a lot.
