Hi everyone!
First of all, thanks to the IK Multimedia team for the incredible work on the ToneX Pedal — it's a fantastic piece of gear that has really opened up my rig in new ways.
I’d like to share a small feature request (and check with the community in case I’ve missed a workaround!).
I’m currently experimenting with using an external MIDI controller to manage only the effects section (mainly Reverb and Delay), while switching between three basic presets on the ToneX (clean / crunch / lead). The idea is to use the ToneX solely for amp/pedal modeling and handle all modulation/fx via MIDI.
If I activate Reverb via MIDI while on, say, Preset 1 (a clean sound), and then switch to Preset 2 (a crunch tone), the reverb gets deactivated — presumably because each preset loads its own stored FX state. That’s expected behavior, of course, but it leads me to this wishlist feature:
Would it be possible to add an option to preserve the state of Reverb, Delay, and other FX (when triggered via MIDI CC) across preset changes? This would allow for behavior more like traditional pedals, where a reverb or delay can stay active regardless of amp/preset switching. Ideally, this could be a toggleable global setting (e.g., “Retain FX State on Preset Change”), or at least an option to selectively exclude FX blocks from preset loading.
I feel this would be a huge plus for live users who want to combine the ToneX’s amazing modeling capabilities with external MIDI-based control in a more modular, flexible way.
Keep up the great work!
Cheers
