hi folks, a similar problem was happening my end...

it went like this

in at5 when using both an audio interface (for outputs) and a stomp I/o as input and controller, these crashes would happen constantly to the point where it is unusable....

so I tried all of the above total clean reinstall a Mac OS reinstall etc, but it still happened..

I solved the issue by using my audio interface for input and output settings, and setting the stomp I/o to controller via usb..

or I can just use my stomp I/o for input/output and control.

for some reason at5 seems to get a bit scrambled when having the input set to a different source than the output

this has solved the issue for me..

it may help some of you guys also, again it may not be a fix for you but maybe worth a try..

hope that helps someone

cheers

I still experience frequent crashes, even at higher buffer settings and with simple patches; I have since I bought Amplitube 5 over 2 years ago. 2019 MacBook Pro, i5 processor, 16GB of RAM.
It's just never performed well for me; I've never experienced all-out crashes with ToneX or any other plugins/standalone music apps. It's my only complaint; I still think it's a great value for the money, sound- and option-wise, but the user experience isn't great a lot of the time. I find myself using just ToneX more and more now that they've added effects, or using ToneX in my DAW with other effects plugins.

My Amplitube 5 app was crashing at startup on my Windows 11 laptop.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times and the problem persisted. I suspected it was caused by the audio settings since it started after I had made a change to the config. I found the settings file named "settings.properties" did not get deleted during the uninstall process which explains why the uninstall did not resolve the issue. The file is stored in the Amplitube 5 folder:
"C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\IK Multimedia\AmpliTube 5"
I deleted that Amplitube folder after an uninstall. I reinstalled the Amplitube 5 software again and after a second start (probably because it created the file on the first) it asked me to configure the audio settings. Once configured it opened and and it now works.
Your issue may be caused by something else but just in case it might be worth the try.
Hope this helps someone.
cheers!

Hi, ive recently installed Amplitube 5 CS but at first it wouldnt start, it crashed during startup. I uninstalled and installed several times the IK product manager and Amplitibe 5 CS but kept crashing. After seeing no progress with this method, I contacted IK Support and they replied me with the following solution:

When you can, please try closing your software and deleting the contents of the following folders to reset your application to the defaults. Next, remove any unnecessary peripherals from your machine. This includes audio interfaces, USB dongles, or any connections to your machine which are not required to open the application. Once done, let us know if this helps.

if you continue to have issues, please let us know in your response (if you're able to do so), the currently selected sample rate and audio buffer size settings. These can be found in the Audio/MIDI Set Up inside your audio interface's control panel, the stand-alone app, or DAW Settings.

Inside IK Multimedia applications, the menu is typically in the upper right-hand corner. If you have any trouble finding these locations, please let us know.

Windows: C:// -> Users -> USERNAMEHERE -> App Data Roaming* -> IK Multimedia -> Application Name
*Make sure to enable hidden files under the "View" tab of your file explorer to see this location.

This first solution IK Support provided me, didint work in my case (but it may work for someone) so I replied them back and they provided a second solution for me:

Please follow these steps to perform a clean reinstall:

Uninstall your application from your computer using the Control Panel >Programs > Uninstall a Program.
Click on the "Start" button, and type "regedit" into the search field.
Click on the "regedit" option in the search results to open the system registry editor.
In the registry editor, click on "HKEY_Current_User" and navigate to "Software" > "IK Multimedia". Delete the Product's folder here (Ex. "TONEX").
Open "HKEY_Local_Machine" and repeat the above steps, deleting the Product's (Ex. "TONEX") folder.
Once you're done, close the registry editor.
Go to "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\IK Multimedia\" find your product's folder (Ex. "TONEX") and delete the settings file in this location.
Note - This requires you have "Show Hidden Files/Folders" turned on in the View tab of your File Explorer.
Go to "Documents" > "IK Multimedia" > "Product Name" (Ex. "TONEX") and backup any Projects or Presets.*
Note - For TONEX specifically, back up your Library.db file which contains your Tone Models & Presets).
Reboot your computer.
Reinstall your application from your original installation file or from the IK Product Manager.
Inside the IK Product Manager reauthorize your application using the Software tab.

After following this process (01/03/25), uninstalling my DAW software (REAPER in my case), uninstalling the Audio interface Drivers (ASIO4All in my case since I have a behringer UM2), deleting all the temp files and reinstalling the IK programs, it finally worked (while making the clean reinstall, I didnt connect any external peripherials to my laptop). After making some test runs, I reinstalled my REAPER and Behringer UM2 audio drivers, launched Amplitube 5 CS and worked. The only think that im still trying to solve is to make it work with my REAPER through the VST/VST3 plugin, but as of this moment, the standalone version works perfectly fine as of today 01/06/25. Hope this works. Regards!
