ToneX and Noise Gates

So far I'm loving ToneX for modelling my stuff at low to mid gain, but when I use my amps normally at high gain levels I use the 4-cable method with a noise gate. Works great and I can crank my stuff up really high without constant whine. However, when I try to capture an amp like this the noise gate seems to kill 90% of the signal during capture so the results are useless. The problem is trying to capture it without the noise gate results in all the annoying high pitched whine I was trying to get rid of in the first place and doesn't make great profiles.
Is there a recommended way to use some sort of gate/suppression when capturing amp tones so I can still get a quiet high-gain profile?

I could be wrong, but wouldn't the logical approach be to capture the Tonex model without a noise gate (i.e., permitting loads of undated noise) but then to use a noise gate when running a signal into the Tonex model? That would, after all, genuinely emulate what's going on in your real-world chain.

Yeah I capture all my stuff right now without a gate, I was just wondering if there was a way to include one for other tests.

I think it would be weird. I think Tonex says that it doesn't work with physical gear that is not basically EQ and/or "distortion" oriented (i.e., amps, drive/dirt pedals, cabs, etc. but not modulation effects, time-based effects, etc.). As you have noted, a noise gate will (or can) prevent part of the test signal from doing its job, so ... I would skip the noise gate when capturing a Tonex model!
