Tips for buying a used Tonex pedal

Hey - saw some pretty decent deals on used Tonex pedals at Guitar Center and I'd like to pick one up. However, I have no idea if the original user transferred / unregistered the Ampitube or Tonex MAX software presets.

BUT! I already own both Amplitube and Tonex MAX separately. Can I buy any old Tonex / Tonex One pedal, registered or unregistered, and just use it with my software like I would if I were the original buyer of the pedal?
