Sequencer plays only fixed step lengths when DAW is open

Using the Pro X together with my DAW and recognised that the sequencer behaves different when the DAW is open.

For example: I recorded a sequence with varying note length per step and active glide.

* When the DAW is closed, the Pro X plays the programmed step lengths with glide.
* When the DAW is open, the Pro X plays only fixed length steps and no glide.

Is there any reason (and solution) for this?
