Make the pitch wheel behave like a normal pitch wheel?

Postby randerson.net@gmail.com » Sun May 25, 2025 8:13 pm

Greetings!

I went ahead and purchased Modo Bass 2, even though there's no trial version for the upright bass.

My intent was to use Modo Bass for live performance, but I'm finding a problem with the pitch wheel setup: A part of my technique is to use the pitch wheel for precise bends, and even for vibrato. To do this with Modo Bass, I need the pitch wheel to simply control the pitch and have that pitch be wherever the wheel says it should be, whenever the wheel says it should be. However, I see that (at least by default) Modo Bass only allows automated pitch changes that are triggered by the wheel.

Is there a way to turn of the automated, triggered pitch shifting and just have Modo Bass's pitch change immediately, according to the pitch wheel position?

Thanks in advance.

Actually, I've discovered that every bass guitar model in Modo Bass 2 has a fretless option in which the pitch wheel actual does behave the way I need it to! It's only the upright models that don't let the player use the pitch wheel like a normal pitch wheel.
