renaming dll files

I like to rename my plug ins dll file and it used to ran with no issues. Recently, ever since upgrading to a larger ssd and re installing the plug ins, it does no allow me to rename the dll file. Anyone else have this issue ? I hope I can get this working or I'm going to have trouble with a bunch of projects.

I realize it is a user area. I was hoping someone found a work around since most support tech are not going to tell you how to modify their products.
