Mic Room isn't really a 'techniques' thing. It is specifically designed to change the perceived sound of one mic into another. If you have recorded vocals with a Shure SM58, Mic Room will change the perceived sound into how it would have sounded if you had used a Neumann U87 for example.

If you have recorded with the Ultravoice, I would suggest starting with one of the dynamic models as your source mic, probably the 57 or 58.

It will be down to experimentation though, depending on what you want your output sound to be like.

For the latter part, it would be best to create a long and complex password with a password generator (you can with tools like 1Password and similar which are also good tools to help keep your accounts secure) as well as notifying IK Support at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support as they can look directly at your account to see if there's anything fishy going on.

Hello Ianharrison1 and welcome to the forum.

As a first suggestion, I would probably try the source mic as the iRig Mic Studio. Both mics are back electret, have a similar size diaphragm and roughly the same sensitivity.

However, there's no reason why you can't experiment with both the source and target mic in the Mic Room until you find a sound you like. That's what it is all about really.

As I posted before, if your exact mic isn't in the source list then you may need to experiment. Having said that, start with something that is probably closest to your actual source mics. So, for a NT-1A or a SE-X1 I would start with either the C414 or the iRig Mic Studio as these are both fairly conventional LDC.
