T-RackS: What would you like to see?

Discussion about MixBox and T-RackS

IK, I love your plugins but as a Pro Tools 11 user, there is some basic functionality that all pro tools plugins should have to which your plugins conform.

All Pro Tools should:

use option+click to revert any setting to default (I just noticed that command+click works for this, needs to be Pro Tools Std)

use command+option+control+click to bring up the automation options dialog menu

use command+control+click to open the parameter's automation lane in the edit window.

glad i discovered that command+click reverts a parameter to default but still!!

thanks
ben

Hi, I'd love to see stem track mixing for T-Racks stand alone software. There is something really nice about working just in the T-Racks stand alone software for mastering especially when mastering a whole album but I'd love to be able to work with stems to create a final master file.

Just need 4-6 tracks so you'd have for example;
drums
bass
guitars
synths
lead vocal
backing vocals

or sometimes less. You don't need to have volume controls as you can do that in the modules, you'd load a British channel module for example and then add the tools you need for each track. No editing, just playback for mixing and mastering! :D

Something like waves vocal and bass rider, I already own these but would be a nice addition :-)

Matching EQ would be great.

I didn't read all 12 pages, so I don't know if this has been suggested, but what about models of the dbx160 series and an LA3A clone?

I have most of the T-Racks plugs and love them. Use them in every project.

Best,

Joel, Studio 52

"dbx160 series and an LA3A clone" sounds good to me and I´d like to see a mix knob and an adjustable size option for all plugins - especially for the quad ones... Maybe an easy track limiter like the L1 would be nice. A convolution reverb ...

Seems like a decade has passed since the last gear release.

Hope some master tape emulation is right around the corner.

+1 for ben9876 and PT compatibility

Regarding Pro Tools I would add that :
- CMD + clic is supposed to be used for fine adjusting a parameter so not a good idea to reset parameters with this (Cubase's) shortcut.

- Adds sidechain capabilities for all compressors (maybe available as AU/VST but sidechain key input doesn't appear in Pro Tools)

+1 for the a mix blend (dry/wet) pot for all compressors
+1 for the DBX160, LA3A and API 525 compressor clones

I would like to see an Equalizer similar to EQuick, IIEQ Pro, and Pro-Q2 -- same GUI style and design.. at least 8 bands (if not many many more) with a clean mode and a colored mode. EQ nodes should be configurable however one choses (no locked shelves or peak nodes). No large bank of parameters.. just a frequency field and some nodes visible with a pop-up of info above a node when selected.

Should have solo mode per node and sidechaining if possible too.

Actually, it may be too late for me... as I'm in the market NOW for one of these.. but it would be nice to see it on the T-Racks lineup (since I own most of the modules).

I'd like to see tape emulation. Studer, Ampex, etc.

T-Racks has the effects down perfect, but the sound & feel of tape would make it really complete.

A good reverb unit, but not lexicon. Maybe TC reverb emulation

I would to see the ability to insert a 3rd part vst into t-racks chain. It will be way cool.

My 4.5 cents:

1) Tape emulation
2) console emulation
3) Neve 1073
3a) API 550 EQ
4) dbx 160
5) tube saturation plugin
6) convolution reverb

I'd be very interested to hear IK's take on any of the above, and I'm sure it will be great. Until last year's group buy, I frankly had never really paid much attention to T-RackS plugins, but I got into the group buy and grabbed a bunch of them. A year later, and they are among my favorites, and form a significant part of my go-to arsenal.
