T-Racks 6: CPU overload (after the update)

Postby sbn » Sun Mar 30, 2025 9:19 pm

Strange process hang after the latest update of the T-Racks 6 manager, following the purchase of the new Mastering EQ that just came out. I’ve noticed some odd changes. Projects that used to run stably now have significantly higher CPU spikes. The processor usage has increased a lot, even though nothing has really changed. Even in standalone mode, when I open my mastering preset, the CPU overloads heavily and starts glitching during playback. I’ve especially noticed this when the Spectrum Analyzer (as a VST) or different tape emulations are enabled.

Also, the module manager doesn’t activate—it says "Not Responding." (I’m a Mac user.) This issue is occurring on an older computer. I haven’t tested it on my new Mac yet, as I’m still installing all the plugins and software. But on the older system, there is a significant CPU overload where there wasn’t before.

If any other users have encountered this issue, let me know so I can understand if it’s not an isolated case.

I installed the T-Racks 6.2.1 update today (Mac) and the Module Manager app installed ok but will not open. It is "Not Responding", and has to be force quit. The Mastering Console app opened normally and seems to be running ok. I reinstalled the entire update from the Project Manager to give it another try. Same results.

Everything in the 6.1.3 update worked fine.

My system specs meet T-Racks 6 requirements.

This needs attention of developer
