Intermittent oscillation and noise from EQ-73??

Postby gimariechacon@gmail.com » Thu Aug 01, 2024 7:32 pm

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone else has had this issue with the T-Racks V2 EQ-73 standalone plugin:

I'm using it all over my DAW, but a single instantation on a guitar bus begins to feedback (oscillation plus noise) intermittently- lol just like hardware. But huh?? If I turn off the plugin it stops. I have remove the *instance* and replaced it and the problem returns. I am using the EQ-81 set as close as possible as an alternative with no issues. There are other plugins on the channel they do not affect the issue, only the EQ-73. It is not on the original clip.

I am in Studio One 5.5.2 my T-Racks install in new.

Thanks so much!

Hi, I'm suffering from the same problem.
I'm using the VST plugin version. But the symptoms are the same.

If I understand correctly, this only occurs when the preamp model is set to "MIC".
I have never encountered this problem in "LINE" mode.
I prefer the sound in "MIC" mode though.

Also, I often use extreme high and low boost in M/S mode.
This may be one of the factors causing the problem.

I hope this bug will be fixed.

After 15+ hours of testing I have equally traced this back to EQ-73. Here are the particulars:

1. Macbook Pro Max M4, 64GB Ram
2. Logic Audio 11.1.2
3. The bounces were about an hour long. The noise only happened about 2/3 of the way through to the end.
4. The CPU was only being taxed about 25%.
5. Project was 24/96. Bounced to 24/48 with no dither.
6. Traced the static, crunchy, noise on the bounce to three instances of EQ-73 on separate tracks.
7. Using the AU version.

Hi, I sent a report.I hope this bug will be fixed.

Also, there was a mistake in my report.
I wrote that there was no noise in "LINE" mode, but today I encountered noise even in "LINE" mode.
It seems that this noise occurs regardless of the preamp mode "LINE/MIC".

Also, I think rmdivito's report is very correct.
This noise does not occur with short-term use.
It gradually increases with long-term use.

The same applies to rendering.
It may not be a problem when exporting a single song, but when exporting a full show, the latter part may be covered in noise.

My T-Racks version is 5.10.

7. Using the AU version.

Does the problem also happen on the VST3 version? Just wondering?

In my case, I have confirmed that noise occurs with VST3.
