[mod redacted - please review rules when posting] I finally found the fix for me. Perhaps it will help others.
I am using SampleTank4 version 4.2.3
Just above the keyboard at the bottom, right side. there is a gear: click it.
Now select the Sound Content tab
on the bottom of that panel, on the left, click Rescan All
This brought in all the instruments for me.
