I see that a new version of SampleTank 4 was released today. Do I also need to download and install all of the files under "Sounds Download" and "Sounds Library Update", or are they unchanged from 4.0.9?

No. you don't need any sound updaters for 4.1 - just the installer for the program/plugin.

Sample tank 4 is crashing in stand alone and DAW mode on windows 10 after update to 4.1. Anyone else having problem? I am also having this problem with modo drums. Modo bass seems to work and amplitube works. Thought maybe it was a windows update issue from yesterday but rolled that back and still same issue. Opened support ticket.

SampleTank 4.1.0 working fine here in standalone mode and within my VST host (Gig Performer) on Windows 10 Professional Version 1909.

The concept of Max is that it has all the ST4 libraries. But even if it doesn't, it's still not clear where the "6 New Libraries" are.

Nope, Max has never meant that. It may have all the libraries at the time that it was initially specified, but new libraries are not added. Same goes for T-Racks MAX, AmpliTube MAX (Komp***e).

That tells you what they are, not how you get them. It's not clear that we need to download the CS sound file. Peter said no. But, I don't see those listed libraries.

MAX contains the libraries/tools available at the time of release. The complete list of included sounds & libraries in each SampleTank 4 version can be found at the bottom of this page: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st4/#sounds

I wasn't questioning what was included in MAX ... I downloaded MAX 4.1 and those 6 new libraries do not show up in the custom shop.. Do I have to install something else?

The 6 new libraries are 6 new products, you'll need to buy them. From the web page or from the Custom Shop (if they are in there).
