How to access legacy content

Postby sintoxea » Sat Jan 18, 2025 4:51 pm

Hello,
I purchased Sampletank 4 Max v.2 recently and was a bitt dissapointed that intruments that are available in Sampletank 2.5 XL was not included. I was wondering if there is a way of accessing these old instruments. Is it neccessary to own a previous license of one of the legacy versions of ST?

I cannot remember whether ST3 included the ST2 instruments. If not, then you would need to Import those legacy ST2 instruments into ST3 (as I did years ago for instrument packs from Sonic Reality / eSoundz).

ST3 (even the free Custom Shop edition) will Import ST2.5 instruments. I think you can also Import ST2's Combis into ST3 (saved as Multis).

Then, in ST4 you can load the ST4 instruments and those ST2 instruments that were Imported into ST3.

One snag, which my have been resolved by IKM Support, is that ST3 could not be installed in Current OSX versions.

Ok, can you download the legacy files anywhere?

If you have ST2.5 Registered to your User Account, you will find them in https://www.ikmultimedia.com/userarea/my-products/ from the ]Sounds Download] button under SampleTank 2.

Otherwise, no. I thought that you had ST2.5 and its library installed. Is that not the case?

/No luck, then.

But the sounds in ST4 should be better than those in ST2.5 (no offence meant ;) )

Yeah I guess they are technically better but I do like older/less refined instruments.

No offence taken, thank you for the help
